Project Gallery
We can talk about our experiences all we want, but the proof is in the pudding. This project gallery showcases a number of actual projects completed during my volunteer and leadership service.

Build-Your-Own Nachos Promotional Event
While volunteering at Denver Public Schools Food and Nutrition Services, I assisted with the creation and launch of create-your-own nacho and sandwich stations at a school that was struggling with school lunch participation. I observed students in the lunchroom, helped create and manage the menus, and created posters and messaging to announce the new options. By building up excitement around a new way to eat lunch, the stations were a big hit!

Product Selection Research
To increase food sales, the team wanted to sell more a la carte items in middle and high schools. I researched particular products that met the USDA snack guidelines and summarized them in a spreadsheet.

Handouts and Reference Guides
I supported the on-campus registered dietitian with a variety or projects. With each project, I researched related information and produced an editable handout or a reference guide that she could use while counseling clients.

Promotional Buttons for Public Events
DDA members often volunteered with local organizations and events to educate the public on nutrition and health. While representing the organization, we wanted volunteers to wear something identifying them as a registered dietitian. The Public Relations committee had a limited budget for developing promotional materials for PR at public events. As a team we purchased food models and promotional buttons for volunteers to wear. T-shirts were too expensive, so buttons were our alternative approach. I researched the button cost options, brainstormed button taglines, and designed the buttons.

Social Media Accounts
I created the organization's Facebook Page (available to members and the public), Twitter account (available to members and the public), and LinkedIn Group (members and potential members only). I regularly post content on all three platforms, carefully considering the appropriate message for the audience of each platform.
Live Tweeting
I posted live tweets on behalf of the organization at the 2013 Colorado Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics Annual Meeting and the 2013 Legislative Day. For both events, I created an event hashtag, promoted the live tweeting to our members, and posted live tweets throughout the event. The purpose was to broadcast the event to a wider audience and share highlights of the events to followers and beyond.
